Process
How it works.
No mystery, no guessing where your return is. Here is the full sequence, what we handle, and what we need from you at each point.
- 1
Tell us your situation
A short intake covers the years, the states and the filings involved. We confirm what is in scope before any work starts.
- 2
Your case is opened
Each tax year and each additional service becomes its own case with assigned staff, requirements and deadlines.
- 3
Documents and questions
You work through a checklist built for your circumstances. Anything we still need appears as a request on your case.
- 4
Preparation
A preparer builds the return and flags anything that needs clarification rather than assuming an answer.
- 5
Review and signature
A second preparer reviews the return. You see the finished result, ask anything you want, then sign electronically.
- 6
Filing and records
The return is transmitted, acceptance confirmed, and final documents kept available in your portal.
What we handle
- Confirming which returns and which years actually need to be filed
- Requesting IRS transcripts where the record needs establishing
- Preparing federal and state returns, and entity returns where relevant
- A second-preparer review before anything reaches you for signature
- Transmitting the return and confirming acceptance
- Responding to notices and refiling a rejected return
What we need from you
- Accurate answers at intake, including anything you are unsure about
- The documents on your checklist, uploaded through the portal
- A prompt reply when a request is raised on your case
- Any agency correspondence, complete and unedited
- A read of the finished return before you sign it
Timing
Preparation time depends on the complexity of the return and, more often, on how quickly outstanding documents arrive. We will tell you at intake if your return sits in a longer category.
