Notices and resolution

IRS Notices & Tax Resolution

A notice is a deadline, not a verdict. We read what it actually says, explain it in plain terms, and prepare a documented response.

What this covers

Agency letters are written in a register designed to be unambiguous to the agency, not legible to you. Many of them are routine: a mismatch against a reported document, a missing form, a proposed adjustment, a request for verification. Some need a response within a fixed window.

We identify the notice, establish what triggered it — often by pulling your transcripts — and set out your options. Then we prepare the response, whether that is documentation, a corrected or missing return, or a disagreement stated with support.

Resolution work often runs alongside preparation. Your notice case and your return case are tracked separately, so neither one hides behind the other.

We do not guarantee that penalties will be removed, that a balance will be reduced, or that any particular resolution programme will be granted. Those outcomes are decided by the agency.

What to gather

  • The complete notice, including every page and the envelope date
  • The return the notice refers to
  • Any earlier correspondence on the same matter
  • Documents supporting the position you believe is correct
  1. Step 1

    Read and diagnose

We identify the notice type, the deadline, and what in the record triggered it.

  2. Step 2

    Set out the options

You get a plain account of what the agency is asserting and the realistic ways to respond.

  3. Step 3

    Respond and follow through

We prepare and submit the response, then track it until the matter is closed or answered.
